It has been ten years since I first visited City Crossroads. I came inside to see if I could find some children not really sure what I would do when I found the. But God had the plan all laid out. He knew even then that two of them would become my daughters. That others amongst them would share our home and our love and different times in their lives. He knew that many of those who found the Lord here would now be working with us to bring the Gospel to the new ones that arrive. Was I intimidated? A little. The attitudes that came from some of them weren’t the most welcoming but they didn’t know me. Why should I expect anything from them? After all these years I recognize that attitude when they come through the door for the first time and it is so great to watch them knowing the barriers will be broken and the tough 13 year old will be letting his guard down and laughing in just a few weeks. I look forward to what God has in store for me in the days, months and years to come.
